Do to a major change with our hosting server and an upgrade to PHP5.3 and Joomla 2.5 we had to change the look of our site. All the information from our old site is now published on this new and improved website. The old site was receiving numerous hack attempts and even though we were able to block them it made the website very vulnerable to being hacked. With the new Joomla 2.5 and PHP5.3 the security is much greater with less chance of the site being maliciously hacked and damaged.
Also, our server will no longer support PHP5.2 and Joomla will no longer support Joomla 1.5. This prompted us to make the change now before our server and Joomla eliminated the platforms totally.
We apologize for the inconvenience but we also truly hope you like the new look.
Avoiding and Treating Ticks
To avoid exposure to ticks, stay on the trails and avoid grassy, brushy areas. Wear light colored clothing so ticks can be seen. Wear long sleeve shirts and tuck shirts into pants and pant legs into socks. Wear a hat. Do not wear shorts on the trails. Check yourself for ticks or have someone else check for you. Finding and removing a tick early (within 36 hours) is key to the prevention of Lyme disease. If a tick is attached to your skin, grab it with tweezers as close to your skin as possible and pull it straight out. Do not use Vaseline. It will kill the tick and cause more harm. Also do not squeeze the body of the tick, it can cause all the infected material of the tick to enter into your skin. Wash the area thoroughly with soap and water and use a disinfectant.
Camping and Hiking Safety
When camping or hiking, there are many hazards that individuals and families may not think about including the sun, bugs, poisonous plants and animals, and campfires. While the intent of a family camping trip or hike may be for mom and dad to relax and to let the children have fun, parents need to pay special attention to their family’s safety, since tragedy can happen in the blink of an eye. The NTSI recommends the following safety tips for camping and hiking.
Bacon, fire-roasted tomatoes, and spicy smoked paprika give this easy-to-make chili recipe a deep, complex flavor. While it's great right after you make it, it's even better the next day. Serve with warm cornbread for a complete meal.
